Dave came to us to refresh his frame to KTM orange. Dave had prepared the frame well, by removing and rubber bushings and bearing surfaces. The frame was also relatively grease free. During the curing process, any residual oil or grease can contaminate the powder coating. Part of the preparation process is to heat the frame in the oven prior to any coating to assure any oils show themselves and burn off. If persistent, this process can be sped up using a blowtorch, though if a frame is brazed, this method cannot be used. After burning off any oils, the frame is cleaned down using solvent .

The frame was prepared using bungs and bolts to stop ny powder ingress in bearing and threaded areas. The frame was then media blasted and prepared for coating.

After blasting, the frame was powder coated.
