Shown below are the various stages of stripping and powder coating the Fantic 350 I have recently processed.

The early images show the initial condition of the frame including bungs and bushes to be removed, some of which have been attempted previously, see scorch marks. Luckily this heating hasn’t done any long term damage to the swing arm.

On occasion, depending on the shore hardness and material of the bushes, they can withstand the heat of the oven. This said, it is always best to remove any rubber bushes as parts require preheating to assure there are no oil or grease deposits within the frame and parts which would affect the finish of the powder coat. This process can sometimes lead into hours of oven time and repeated cleaning until there are no more signs of residue. With this extra oven time, the condition of the bushes becomes largely unknown.
